BOIOFW 2025

BOIOFW 2025

What a Weekend! Open Farm Weekend 2025 Was a Huge Success...❤️

We’re still buzzing with excitement after an incredible Open Farm Weekend 2025 — and we’re thrilled to share that we welcomed over 1,300 visitors across the weekend!

From families discovering where their food comes from to curious locals exploring life on the farm, the atmosphere was filled with fun, and a genuine interest in agriculture. We couldn’t have asked for better weather, better company, or a better turnout.

Day 1: Friday 13th June

On the first day of BOIOFW we welcomed groups of kids from the local primary schools out onto the farm, these ages varied from 4/5- 9/10. For me this was just the amazing start to kickstart the weekend. The kids were full of fun and so inquisitive during their visit, asking so many different questions and intrigued by all the different farm animals. We offered a guided tour around the farm, then some colouring in and finished off with some garden games!

Day 2: Saturday 14th June

Our first day open to the public, despite the rain the crowds never failed us. Visitors of all ages enjoyed a wide range of activities that gave a behind-the-scenes look at how our farm works day to day. Guided farm tours, giving people the chance to see the animals up close (Angus our highland cow was a huge hit), learn about our crops, and understand more about the work that goes into running a farm. The kids loved have the chance to meet the animals up close (and plenty of adults too!) – especially the goats and pigs! On this day we had stall holders including 'Dundarave Estate' and 'Chestnutts Farm', whose granola pots went down a treat!

Day 3: Sunday 15th June

The final day, and the crowd was electric! We doubled our number compared with the previous day! The crowds came in full force for the main attraction to see Jonny Murphy aka the 'Hungry Hooker', who gave us two cookery demos on the day with a packed out audience. The adults loved the tasting stations featuring local produce and farm-made goods – from fresh-baked breads to our locally reared beef.  The sun came out for us, and the crowds kept on coming. On this day we had stall holders including 'You Matter Clothing' and 'Amy Stewart Art'. Horse and cart rides around the farm, offering a real fun  experience of what it would of been like back in the day!

One of the most heartwarming parts of the weekend was seeing the community come together — not just to support us, but to engage with where their food comes from and connect with local farming in a real, meaningful way. The conversations we had, the questions asked, and the smiles shared reminded us why we love what we do.

Air Ambulance Northern Ireland

We're proud to have successfully raised funds in support of the Air Ambulance, a vital service that saves lives every day. During the weekend we had a tractor filled with balloons, the aim was to guess the number of balloons to win a gorgeous local food hamper all donations went to Air Ambulance NI. Thanks to the generosity and dedication of our supporters, our fundraising efforts have made a real impact in helping to keep this essential emergency service running.

A Huge Thank You

We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who came out to support us over the weekend. Weather it was your first time visiting or you’ve been coming for months, your enthusiasm and support mean the world to us.

Thank you also to the fantastic team of helpers who made everything run smoothly. From early morning setup to keeping everything tidy throughout the day, we couldn’t have done it without you.

A special mention to Buzz n Berry and Eccentric Catering who both provided scrummy treats across the weekend! Dungiven YFC who kept the traffic flowing in the carpark.

Until next time!
